In January 2008, Kitty Brewer, President of Pulaski Garden Club and State Treasurer of the Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. was given a copy of Holley's Printing Company's 2008 Calendar by her daughter, Leatha Bates, a member of the Advertising Department there. Upon reading the entire production, she quickly realized that it took the efforts of all employees to carry out such outstanding success in recycling and conservation. She later learned that Denise Inman and Meredith Harmond had been the primary researchers and creators of the publication itself.
Kitty then contacted Leslee Dodd-Karl, State Litter, Recycling & Waste Management Chairman, to inquire if there was any type of recognition that could be given to industrial or professional businesses for exemplary use and conservation of our natural resources. This is a matter of great importance to the state federation and also to National Garden Clubs, Inc. Since there had been no previous awards of this type, after examining the calendar, Chairman Karl presented the State Board at the 2008 Convention in April with a proposal that a certificate be awarded to a worthy company each year for outstanding effort in the area of recycling and conservation. She further recommended that Holley's Printing Company of Pulaski be the recipient of the first of these certificates. Her proposal was quickly adopted and guidelines are now being developed for judging and selection of future winners.

On this second day of June 2008, it is indeed a privilege for Pulaski Garden Club to present this first "Certificate of Appreciation" from the Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc., Litter Reduction and Recycling Committee to the employees and staff of Holley's Printing in recognition of exemplary and outstanding achievements in Recycling and Conservation.
